Please excuse the long absence - this winter has seen Jack of Diamonds setting off on exciting ventures including new machines and a glorious research expedition in Europe.... more on that to come.
If you have been missing the online instalments the next couple of months gives you several opportunities to catch up in person - Jack of Diamonds is holding multiple workshops at two different venues. The success of this seasons classes at CAE has prompted several classes in the new course guide. I am also very excited to announce a new round of classes will be taking place at Handmaker's Factory in Kensington too...
For those of you interested in learning some of the techniques used to create the Jack of Diamonds knitwear collections these workshops provide a place to learn about machine knitting in a social education format.
One machine and so many possibilities...
The new classes at Handmaker's Factory are a series of short classes based around basic machine knitting techniques and finishing off with a one day project based workshop where students will create their own wearable pair of mittens.
Make you very own cabled mittens at Handmaker's Factory this spring...
Techniques covered will range from the very basic casting on and off procedures through to the nitty gritty of servicing the knitting machine including advice on buying your very own.
Learn how to create beautiful hem finishes on a knitting machine...
If you are more of a throw yourself in the deep end type, the next course at CAE is a weekend long intensive workshop where students knit their very own cardigan.
Please note that all equipment and materials are provided for all the above mentioned classes - all you need bring is a thirst for knowledge!
A big thanks to both CAE and the extraordinary ladies behind Handmaker's Factory for providing exciting new platforms from which to share these skills. Feel free to drop me a line for further details on each class and any enrolment enquiries can be made through the various links above.
I look forward to seeing you in the studio...
